Last week, I stayed in the luxurious 4 star Hotel Spero in the heart of San Francisco with family from the Emerald Isle. The hotel is newly renovated since earlier this year and has a San Francisco style blended with the historical Spanish Colonial design which has been preserved for decades.
The property first housed Hotel Californian in 1923 and has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in San Francisco. The lobby is absolutely spectacular with hand painted ceiling beams, original marble floors and the lobby is filled with light.
Christmas trees and decorations are splashed across the lobby and Hotel Spero are ready for the festive season. There is a selfie sleigh, a giant Christmas tree and dozens of Christmas ornaments dotted in each area. Throughout the lobby, there are lots of separate sections to sit and enjoy the historic, luxurious setting. There is also a gym, a work space and a large meeting room in the historic hotel. Jaspers kitchen onsite also offers American Cuisine with lots of great options, fabulous cocktails and over 18 locally brewed beers. Jaspers opens for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
Some other hotel amenities include:
· High-speed Wi-Fi
· Pet-friendly accommodations
· 24-hour fitness center with 2 Peloton bikes
· Coffee and tea in the lobby (AM)
· Bellman service
· Laundry & dry cleaning services
· Complimentary newspaper
· Valet parking available
· 3,000 sq. ft. of event space
My room was absolutely beautiful. I stayed in the Serenity Suite which was incredibly spacious and filled with light. The room sleeps 4 and has a separate bedroom, living room with a workspace, and a beautiful sleek bathroom. The room boasted two massive 50ft TVs, incredible city views and a modern clean feel. It was very rainy in San Francisco last week so it was the perfect time for a staycation and a cozy evening in watching movies with family. Although the hotel is in the heart of the city, my room was so peaceful and noise free.
There are a variety of rooms to choose from when booking including a queen room, a king room, a two double bed room, an urban suite and a one bedroom suite. All have their own unique features and are all beautifully designed.
Spero means hope and Hotel Spero aim to embed this hope and positivity through little touches throughout each guests stay. Luxurious bathrobes got me! Also, I had arrived in my room 5 minutes when the phone rang. It was the front desk checking in to see if everything was ok – what a touch! The team also had fruit, freshly baked goods and Hotel Spero gifts in my living room. The bellman was also an added treat. From walking into the hotel to my departure, my stay was so luxurious and relaxing. For me, it’s always the little touches that make a stay a winner and memorable for me.
Hotel Spero have numerous packages available on their website which include seasonal discounts, day touring passes, Napa Valley packages, Family packages and more. Overall, such a wonderful stay in a luxurious hotel steps away from some of San Francisco’s top sights and tourist activities. Highly recommend checking out this gem for a city getaway and top relaxation.
